Applications to renew or apply for your EMBA licence 2024
EMBA AGM held on18 September 2023
The annual AGM was held as a Zoom meeting on Monday 18 September 2023. Anyone member who wishes to see the Minutes and financials etc , please contact your Club or Rep. or email me and I will send these onto you.
The following will now apply.
It was decided to do away with the white licence card. Those who still have one with correct ICE and Medical Aid number, can use these, but everyone for 2024 will be issued with a E-licence card.
The E-Licence will be Emailed you within 3 days of receipt of your PoP. If not received, please check your SPAM, and if not there, send mean Email.
We will continue to use the existing bike board, but it will be designed so that those who wish to cut them down will be able to do so.
We will explore ways to circumvent using Bike boards in the future
With the poor economy and large numbers who have moved away, our numbers were down by approximately 160 riders. As our budget for 2023 was based on a far higher number of riders, we have not been able to cover our expenses to the end of September. To this end, we are asking anyone who can to re-apply now, to get us through this current financial crisis. The 2024 boards will, as per usual, be available for 01 December, and valid to 31 December 2024

We do have sponsorship which will come into effect for 2024. (R20K) In addition we are still waiting for confirmation from Tour Durban, due to be held in April 2024
- The new fee structure will be :
Adults R750
70+ (ie born 1954 and earlier) and school or varsity student dependents R350
Monthly debits are now R65 per month
The new cost of a Temp Board will be R50 per day, still considerably less than other boards available in both areas
Anyone who has an existing board does not need to fill in the application form, unless there are any changes of details. Please also make sure that I have you correct Email address and cell number

Please note that Razzlers & KPCC will no longer be affiliated club,s and those riders will need to change to a new club.

This is the primary means of communication. I will only send Emails to those who specifically request an Email. This is because when I send bulk emails the vast majority are rejected as SPAM.

Your current board is valid until 31 December 2023
The 2024 board can be used from 01 December 2023 and will be valid to 31 December 2024
If you need a replacement board for your sticker you will need to request it. There is no charge for a replacement board or sticker, or licence card. If you lose your board, or your bike gets stolen etc… We will still replace these pro bono
All new applicants (including those who held a permit prior to 2021) will need to complete the application form and provide the usual photo, PoP and Club for 2023

As background, EMBA was formed as an association of clubs who approached Tongaat Hulett for permission to use their land. As per our agreement with them all riders who want an EMBA permit need to belong to one of the clubs that have signed the agreement with THS
